KROV, 91.7-HD2 FM, San Antonio Community Radio, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit radio station, and is the only urban contemporary, R&B & community-formatted radio station in San Antonio.The station has partnered with Trinity University's KRTU 91.7 and KRTU 91.7- HD1 to bring an educational and entertaining radio station format that plays an urban contemporary format, old school jams, and local musicians of all music genres. If you're band is San Antonio or Texas- based and your recordings are broadcast quality, we'll put your music on- air.In March of 2008, over 200 San Antonians gathered at the University of Texas at San Antonio's Downtown Campus to discuss the loss of the city's only urban contemporary radio station, KSJL. The gathering motivated people to organize a new station because the old KSJL was the only radio station in San Antonio that brought together newsmakers and community organizations to talk about issues important to San Antonio's urban community.
